Do you have enough trust in humanity to leave your Mac unattended for a few minutes? Hell no! So you either take it with you to the toilet or you wait until you’re done working, go pee and then leave.
What’s one of the most annoying things that can happen when you’re working on your Mac in public places like a library or Starbucks? Yes, having a full bladder. Update: Laplock cannot be downloaded from the official website right now, but you can still get it here.
Here are a few commands to give you a better idea: Flashlight allows you to add plugins to your OS X Yosemite Spotlight search to make it much more powerful than it already is. It offers a huge list with many commands to choose from, which you can then add to Spotlight. Nope, this is not an app that turns your mac screen into a bright white flashlight.
Since it’s quite a steep price for a calendar app, you can download a trial version through Fantastical’s website to see if it’s worth the money. The good thing is that Fantastical supports the same reminders as OS X which means that you don’t have to deal with two separate to-do lists. It can be accessed easily from your menu bar and you can create new events or reminders by typing in things like “Conference call with Alex and Theresa tomorrow at 11AM” or “Remind me to call dad tomorrow at 8PM”. Check out their video to see how it works.įantastical is a great alternative to Apple’s native calendar app. Plus, I think the security of your most important online accounts is worth more than 50 bucks. Trust me, it’s worth the money! It’s extremely convenient to use and offers great features such as Dropbox syncing. The price tag of $49.99 might drive people away but, after trying out other tools like Dashlane or KeePass, I finally decided to give 1Password a try.
1Password – $49.99ġPassword is hands down the best password manager tool you can get. This way, you don’t have to go back to your Facebook browser tab all the time to reply. Probably the best feature is the chat window that you can use to talk to your Friends. Current is a native Mac app that lets you access your notifications, chat messages and friend list. Now, after using it a little longer, I must say that this statement is still true but only for people who use Facebook Chat a lot. The computer still should be wiped, so nothing remains on it that can be tied to the previous owners Apple ID.I wrote about Current a while ago and called it “ the best way to use Facebook on a Mac“. If the previous owner did not wipe it completely, this does not mean you get Apps for free. On used computers, the previous owner should have wiped it, so no Apps remain on it. Only the first Apple ID that gets used on the new computer is entitled to the free Apps. Otherwise there's no reason to expect the apps for free. If you have already bought them, or have an Apple ID that got them from the purchase of a new computer then they remain available on the Apple ID that bought them. If you buy a second hand or used computer then there's no reason for you to get the Apps for free.
The Apps like Numbers, Pages, iMovie etc. You are only entitled to the free Apps when you buy a new computer. They way it is currently done is by design. Putting aside the fact you just responded to a year old thread, I doubt very much it is going to change.
